Spring Awakening Blossoms On Broadway TonightAs one of the current Broadway season's two musicals with Off-Broadway roots, Spring Awakening completes its transfer to the Great White Way this evening as it opens at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre.
Using Franz Wedekind's play about sexual awakening as its source material, the tuner from Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater reaped considerable acclaim during its celebrated Off-Broadway run earlier this year.
While this marks the first time on Broadway for most of the cast, some impressive acting names are associated with the production, including Christine Estabrook, two-time Tony winner Stephen Spinella and John Gallagher, Jr., who first treaded the boards earlier this year in Rabbit Hole.
