Broadway Box Office Tweets - Week Ending November 7, 2010

If you follow me on Twitter, you most likely know that each Monday, I offer my quick analysis of each preceding week's box office on Broadway.

Some people live for the latest sports stats, while I love poring over each week's box office totals on the Great White Way. So for your viewing pleasure, here are my tweets in chronological order for the week ending November 7, 2010:  

3:31 pm November 8 - Broadway's box office up last week by 8.44% to $20,710,040. That's healthy increase of $1.7 million over week before

3:32 pm November 8 - Broadway capacity up last week by 1.24% to 71.79% or 257,169 seats sold out of 356,208

3:33 pm November 8 - Broadway's average ticket price last week was $76.12 down slightly from $76.43 week before

3:35 pm November 8 - Only 3 Broadway shows grossed over $1 million each last week: WICKED, LION KING and JERSEY BOYS

3:37 pm November 8 - WICKED was last week's top grossing show on Broadway ($1,547,866) & top capacity 98.4%. Avg ticket price: $108.72

3:39 pm November 8 - MERCHANT OF VENICE was Broadway's top grossing play last week ($882,431) at 95.8% capacity. Avg ticket price: $114.19

3:41 pm November 8 - DRIVING MISS DAISY had Broadway's highest avg ticket price: $123.96. Grosses $674,236 on 84.6% capacity

3:42 pm November 8 - BILLY ELLIOT and PROMISES PROMISES each gross between $900,000 and $1 million last week on Broadway

3:43 pm November 8 - WICKED, MERCHANT OF VENICE, JERSEY BOYS, WOMEN ON THE VERGE, LION KING only Broadway shows attracting over 90% capacity

3:44 pm November 8 - DRIVING MISS DAISY,MERCHANT OF VENICE,JERSEY BOYS,LION KING, WICKED only Broadway shows w/avg ticket price over $100

3:46 pm November 8 - COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT has week's top capacity gain of 40.5% to 69%. Grosses $87,764 w/avg ticket price: $27.10

3:47 pm November 8 - COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT's $27.10 average ticket price is Broadway's lowest priced ticket last week.

3:48 pm November 8 - COLIN QUINN LONG STORY SHORT has week's lowest gross on Broadway: $87,764

3:49 pm November 8 - PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW postsweek's 2nd top capacity gain of 11.4% to 81.4%. Gross: $544,202. Avg. ticket price: $79.21

3:50 pm November 8 - A LIFE IN THE THEATRE attracted Broadway's lowest capacity last week: 33%. Gross: $187,480. Avg ticket price: $66.29

3:51 pm November 8 - In 1st week of previews, ELF musical comes on strong, grossing $594,759 on 80.7% capacity. Avg. ticket price: $64.72

3:52 pm November 8 - LOMBARDI has biggest decline in capacity last week. Down 15.8% to 65.3%. Grosses: $267,558. Avg. ticket price: $64.78

3:54 pm November 8 - Only Broadway shows playing to less than 50% capacity last week: A LIFE IN THE THEATRE and AMERICAN IDIOT
