Broadway Bound, Second Time Around And Then Some
Broadway Bound, Second Time Around And Then SomeSorry folks. It's been one of those weeks!
Where would I be this week if it weren't for Modern Fabulousity, who provided an outstanding wrap-up of all the exciting revivals headed back to Broadway:
- for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf in its first revival, with Grammy-winning singer India.Arie in July.
- Pal Joey, revived on Broadway for the fourth time under Joe Mantello's direction with rumors of Christian Hoff opposite Stockard Channing - this November at Roundabout's Studio 54)
- Oh Kay! in its third Rialto revival, directed by Kathleen Marshall reteaming with star Harry Connick, Jr. (hey Doug, maybe that's why he was on your flight to New York...)
This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
Labels: Broadway, for colored girls who have considered suicide, Musical, Oh Kay, Pal Joey, Play, Revival

It's my understanding that the Marshall/Connick "Oh Kay" revival will be more like how "Crazy For You" was a revival of "Girl Crazy." I think I saw an audition notice for it described as a "new Gershwin musical."
OK! Not sure how they could call it a "new" Gershwin musical since it's not, but I appreciate your sharing Mondschein!
I would love to see Harry Connick back on Broadway. I saw the Pajama Game at the beginning and end of the run and I thought he really loosened up and improved a lot by the end. And who can deny that voice!!www.broadwayundercover.com
