Who Knew?

Who Knew?

Speaking of Young Frankenstein, whoddathunk that its most entertaining cast member, Christopher Fitzgerald, would have been the very same actor in that exceedingly clever Geico ad as its Cabbage Patch Kid star gone wrong.

Wonder if Fitzgerald was able to save on his car insurance? Or perhaps he doesn't need any given his New York City domicile.

Post Script: Fitzgerald's castmate and Tony-winning actor Shuler Hensley (a/k/a "The Monster) cameos in Geico's undercover piece on Jed Clampett.

This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).

Great article about Christopher Fitzgerald! And you're right, he is the most entertaining cast member of "Young Frankenstein." He was so funny. While his performance pays homage to Marty Feldman, he really makes the part his own. I didn't forget Marty Feldman, but I didn't miss him either, because Fitzgerald was so great. He just brought such a great sense of wackiness to the role. Unfortunately, I can't say the same of Roger Bart as Dr. Frankenstein. I couldn't help but miss Gene Wilder. And btw, Christopher Fitzgerald was an absolute sweetheart at the stage door, very gracious and a really nice person.

I hope that you've clicked onto the two ads (you can do so by clicking on the images) - I give the auto insurance company credit for continually coming up with clever material.

I agree with you on both Fitzgerald and Bart. It would have been something to see Fitzgerald as Dr. Frankenstein as outlined in the CNN story (and Bart presumably as Igor).
