Tonight: Puttin' On The Ritz
Tonight: Puttin' On The RitzIt's been 32 years since Terrence McNally's The Ritz first opened on the Great White Way.
Tonight, the revival of this steam sex farce opens at a venue that seem entirely apropos: Studio 54. Helmed by Joe Mantello -- arguably Broadway's current top director -- The Ritz stars Kevin Chamberlin and Rosie Perez.
The original production ran for almost a year, but this limited run is scheduled through December 2.
Will the critics find the new production to be dated? Look for my critics' capsule tomorrow.
This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
