LoveMusik? Check Out MTC's Opening Night
This evening, the final new musical entrant of the 2006-07 Theatrical Season opens at the Manhattan Theatre Club's Biltmore Theatre. Unlike other tuners that opened on Broadway this season, LoveMusik is enjoying its world premiere.
Already the recipient of many award nominations, LoveMusik tells the story of Kurt Weill and Lotte Lenya set to the former's music. Directed by the legendary Hal Prince, LoveMusik features a book by Alfred Uhry and teams Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy as Weill and Lenya, respectively. David Pittu is also in the cast as Bertolt Brecht.
Will critics love this musical? I'll be reporting on their reviews tomorrow.
