Broadway Box Office Tweets - Week Ending September 6, 2010

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll know that each Monday, I ordinarily offer my quick analysis of each preceding week's box office on Broadway. Forgive me for being tardy in posting these until today.

For your viewing pleasure, here are my tweets in chronological order for the week ending September 6, 2010:

3:45 pm September 7 - Broadway grosses for week leading up to Labor Day were up 3.18% from last week to $16,669,049 http://bit.ly/b10pI6

3:47 pm September 7 - Broadway capacity up 1.51 last week to 80.04%, meaning 189,021 out of 237,484 theatre seats were filled

3:48 pm September 7 - Average ticket price on Broadway last week down slightly from $84.97 to $84.32

3:49 pm September 7 - Broadway shows grossing $1 million+ included WICKED, LION KING, ADDAMS FAMILY, BILLY ELLIOT, JERSEY BOYS, PROMISESx2

3:50 pm September 7 - Broadway's top grossing show last week: WICKED taking in $1,622,078 w/average tickets priced $112.08. 100% capacity

3:51 pm September 7 - Sold-out WICKED was Broadway's top grossing show last week again taking in $1,664,108. Average ticket price: $114.99

3:52 pm September 7 - While WICKED attracted week's highest capacity last week, LION KING had week's highest average ticket price: $116.66

3:53 pm September 7 - THE LION KING grossed $1,467,779 last week on 93.8% capacity.

3:54 pm September 7 - Broadway shows with 90%+ capacity: WICKED, JERSEY BOYS, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, BILLY ELLIOT & THE LION KING

3:55 pm September 7 - Broadway shows with average ticket price over $100 last week: LION KING, WICKED, JERSEY BOYS & THE ADDAMS FAMIL

3:56 pm September 7 - Week's lowest grossing show was MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION at $134,547 but that was on just 5 performances.

3:58 pm September 7 - MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION also had week's lowest average ticket price of just $41.66

4:00 pm September 7 - Among shows that played full 8 performances, NEXT TO NORMAL had week's lowest gross: $296,154 on 79.4% capacity.

4:01 pm September 7 - Among Broadway shows that played full 8 performances NEXT TO NORMAL also had week's lowest average ticket price: $60.41

4:02 pm September 7 - MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET attracted week's lowest capacity: 57.6%, Grosses $468,077 with average ticket price of $83.67

4:03 pm September 7 - Broadway shows grossing under $500,000: MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION, NEXT TO NORMAL, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, FELA!

4:04 pm September 7 - After Nathan Lane's vacation, ADDAMS FAMILY posts week's largest capacity gain of 15.4% to 86.2% grossing $1,079,425

4:05 pm September 7 - Broadway's top capacity loss at WEST SIDE STORY, down 8.9% to 61.3%, grossing $623,485
