Wicked's West End Witches Update
Wicked’s West End Witches Update
The complete casting for the West End version of Wicked has been announced with Australian Helen Dallimore set to portray Galinda-cum-Glinda. A graduate of Sydney’s renowned National Institute of Dramatic Art -- the same dramatic school where the likes of Nicole Kidman and a host of other major Australian thespians studied -- Dallimore has been a staple on television Down Under and joins fellow Aussie Adam Garcia in the Joe Mantello-helmed Wicked, in addition to American Idina Menzel reprising her Tony Award-winning role as Elphaba. Performances begin on September 7.
With Australians set to assume two of the three leading roles at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, could preparations finally be underway for a mounting of Wicked in the real Oz, perhaps with a run in Sydney and Melbourne?
This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
