Shining City Opens on Great White Way Tonight

Shining City Opens on Great White Way Tonight

We’re now in the final lengths of Broadway’s 2005-06 season as the second-to-last production, Conor McPherson’s Shining City, opens tonight at the Manhattan Theatre Club's Biltmore Theatre. Celebrated director Robert Falls from Chicago’s Goodman Theatre helms the haunting Irish drama starring Oliver Platt, Brian F. O’Byrne and Martha Plimpton.

You’ll recall that for all of O’Byrne’s previous appearances on Broadway in which he created the roles (Doubt, Frozen, The Lonesome West and The Beauty Queen of Leeane, he has received critical acclaim matched with Tony nominations; in fact, he won for Frozen two years ago. Can he pull off that shining feat yet again? We may know more when we see tomorrow’s reviews.

This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
