December 9 - Time To Cue Portly Woman's Tune?

December 9 - Time To Cue Portly Woman's Tune?

From the "just when you thought it was safe to talk about something else department" comes the timely reminder from Playbill that it ain't over 'til it's over.

While the picket signs may have come down on the Broadway stagehands strike against The League of American Theatres and Producers, Local One of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) is now set to vote on whether to ratify its new contract on December 9.

Wonder if George Wendt as Edna Turnblad would do? I could see the current star of Hairspray cued to sing "You Can't Stop The Beat."

This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).

The agreeed Contract is far from what the "League First offered"
Than Imposed on us.
Its far from what Mr Short & Mr Disney..Helped out on.
It is a fair contract!
We gave some they gave some.
Now if the league had approached us with this in the first place.
There would have been no STRIKE.
No Lost, Capital.
Everyone would have won.

But they chose the path of HARDBALL.
And it bounced back an hit em in the _____(fill in the blank)

There was a meeting today wensday
with the "Pink Contract Employes"
It seem that they were not payed properly during the "Local One Strike"
The Rules of there contract with the league...were notcarried out.

The Producers may Feel the wrath of Non Local One Stagehands.
Will this Go To arbitration?
Or another Strike Action?

BOYCOTT JOE ALLEN

In the November 17, 2007 edition of the New York Times, Mr. Joe Allen is quoted as saying, “I saw them picketing the other day on 44th Street and thought to myself, “That’s the hardest they’ve worked in years.”

Mr. Joe Allen said that about YOU. The account Local One had for many years with Joe Allen was immediately terminated.

We are asking that all Local One members, their family members, friends and all other Union members BOYCOTT the Joe Allen Restaurant located at 326 West 46th Street.

His other restaurants include Orso, 322 West 46th Street and Bar Centrale, located above Orso. Also, Joe Allen Restaurants are located in Miami, London and Paris.

BOYCOTT ALL JOE ALLEN RESTAURANTS

His degrading and disrespectful remarks about YOU should not go without retribution. Please do not spend your hard earned money in any of his businesses.
