Vanity Project Headed To Broadway?

Vanity Project Headed To Broadway?

According to Variety, a musical version of Vanities helmed by Judith Ivey is "aiming" for Broadway in the fall of 2008.

Based on Jack Heifner's highly successful 1976 play -- one of Off-Broadway's all-time longest running plays after clocking in at five years -- the tuner features a score by David Kirshenbaum.

An initial one-week workshop took place during the fall of 2005 before it was finally produced a year ago last summer at TheaterWorks in California. Then, it finally landed in the Big Apple last fall during the National Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival of New Musicals.

You can bet I'll be following this one closely.

This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
