Bent Revival Twists Its Way Toward London Opening Tonight
Bent Revival Twists Its Way Toward London Opening TonightAlan Cumming returns to the London stage in the revival of Bent, which opens tonight at Trafalgar Studio 1.
Directed by Daniel Kramer, Martin Sherman's Tony-nominated and Olivier-winning play from 1979 "follows a personal journey from the cabarets and clubs of a hedonistic city to the inhuman excesses of a totalitarian regime, as a gay man discovers the true meaning of love and self-acceptance against almost impossible odds. A transcendent love story, Bent has touched a universal nerve through the years in the more than fifty countries that it has been seen in."
Will its focus on humanity strike the right chord with British critics? We'll find out tomorrow.
This is Steve On Broadway (SOB).
