The musical I look forward most to seeing is THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING -- even though the buzz has been mixed, I think Twyla Tharp is talented enough to pull off anything. And the music isn't bad, either.

Debbie,

There's no denying Twyla Tharp's genius or Bob Dylan's timeless music. Most of the "mixed" buzz I've heard is over the carnival theme of the show, as well as the continued cast changes.

But I'm reminded of the mixed buzz that "Movin' Out" received in Chicago -- Tharp fine-tuned that show into a celebrated hit.

Appreciate your comments!

Michael,

Thanks for sharing the review from the Chicago Tribune. I had noticed it a week ago and thought of you and your enthusiasm for it immediately. With the positive press it has received, one can only wonder whether it will have East Coast-bound legs.

As a post script to my response to Debbie, I also wanted to mention that she has an interesting poll of her own going at:
http://journals.aol.com/savvycrone/waiting-in-the-wings/#Entry1495

She's asking what shows readers think will make for the hottest tickets, as well as:
Best Play

Best Musical

Best Actor/Actress

Song that will be remembered

Song that should never have been written

Actor we are most sick of seeing

Actor we want to see more of

Which theater has the worst seats

Which theater has the rudest ushers

Which theater has the best concession counter

Which theater is the best place to pick up people

What production should NEVER be revived NO MATTER WHAT

If you're interested in joining her discussion, please check out her site dubbed WAITING IN THE WINGS ( http://journals.aol.com/savvycrone/waiting-in-the-wings/)
